What's In Your Pets Food?

Do your pet a favor and take a minute to look at the first few ingredients listed on his or her bag of food.
The Bad (and very common):

Animal digest, Animal fat, Artificial flavors and colors, BHA/BHT, Chicken By-products or Digest, Corn or corn gluten, Ethoxyquin, Lamb By-products or Digest, Meat Meal or Bone Meal, Meat By-products, Peanut Hulls, Poultry, Poultry By-products or Digest, Poultry Fat, Soybeans or Soy, Sugar, Turkey By-products, Wheat Gluten, Wheat Middlings

The Good:

Alfalfa, Apples, Beef/Bison/Venison/Pork, Blueberries, Broccoli, Carrots, Chelated Minerals, Chicken/Duck/Turkey, Chicken or Turkey Meal, Chicken Fat, Cranberry, Digestive Enzymes, Eggs, Fish (named) or Fish Meal, Flax or Flaxseed Meal, Kale, Kelp, Garlic, Glucosamine, Lamb or Lamb Meal, Lecithin, Linoleic Acid, Omega-3 fatty acids, Prebiotics, Probiotics, Spinach, Sunflower Oil, Vitamins

The Pretty Good:
(but should not be in the first couple of ingredients)

Whole Barley, Whole Brown Rice, Oatmeal or Whole Oats, Potatoes/Sweet Potatoes, Chickpeas, Green Beans/Peas/Lentils

Unfortunately, many commercial pet food manufacturers fill pet food full of the ingredients on the "bad" list.
If your pet's food contains any of these ingredients, you should seriously consider switching to a natural, holistic food. Your pet will thank you!
